Hello Everyone: I am new to VW ownership and new to this list. I recently purchased an '87 Synchro Westy. While getting familiar with it the other day I discovered that the wiper speed control module that plugs in in the fuse box was laying in the glove box. I plugged it in, which restored all the wiper speeds, but shortly thereafter fuse number 12 blew, causing the wipers, power windows, and (I think) the radiator cooling fan to stop operating. As part of trying to figure out what's happening,I have unplugged the front and rear windshield washer pumps to eliminate them as part of the problem. In my search for a solution, I discovered that the rear wiper and the power door lock actuator in the passenger door were already disconnected. I've ordered a service manual, but it's on back order, so I'm "working blind". Any suggestions of where to look next would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.............Harry |
