Subject: idle stabilizer valve question
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Hi volks,

My van's engine started racing when I turned it on - but I could drive and when stopped at an intersection in drive, it would idle fine. It would only race while in "park." So I unhooked my idle stabilizer valve and it seems to be idling fine now while in "park". Haven't taken it for another ride yet though. I tried to see if the ISV was vibrating when hooked up, but couldn't really feel anything, although my exhaust needs replacing so it vibrates the whole engine compartment a bit so its hard to tell. I'm about to order a new ISV - mine is looking rusty and old - but wanted to see if anyone out there in VW land had any other ideas of things that might be wrong to check out first so I don't waste money. Thanks in advance!

Peace, Marla '87 Westy GL Van "Morrison"
