I have no specific knowledge of this situation, since I was not a bidder on the item. Of course that's never stopped me from giving an opinion in the past, so why should it do so this time.

If I offer to sell something at a certain price, then I will, even if I find out later that I could get more. Keeping my word is worth more to me than a bit of cash. I suppose every person must decide for themselves what their word is worth. Will you break your word for a dollar? How about a hundred? Maybe a thousand? What price do you put on you honor?

I am reminded of the old joke about the man who asks a woman if she will go to bed with him for a million dollars. After thinking for a moment, she says she will. He then asks if she will do it for a dollar. She responds with "What kind of woman do you think I am?" He replies, "We've determined that. Now we're just discussing the price."
