Funny, but that's exactly the way you take care of fish tanks. Change X% of the water Y times a month. With my lack of skills X almost always equaled 100 and Y was close to 30.

Seriously, when the tank ran well, that technique would keep one fresh and healthy for years. Of course, we did have additional filters workin' on the water as well, though.

Interesting idea...
