Subject: Switch from Power Windows to Manual Windows
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi,

I'm a newbie on this list; enjoying it so far! Thanks.

I am thinking seriously about removing the erratic, usually non-functioning power window regulators, motors and switches from my 87 GL front doors, and replacing them with the usually functioning manual window levers and cranks from my 86 GL parts van. I figure it will be somewhat of a pain and, before I waste too much time on this project, has anyone on this list successfully performed this transplant? I checked out the Archives and, although others have asked the same question, I didn't find any message stating they had successfully done it. I am left with the impression that it might be fairly straightforward, the only problem being the holes left in the panels from the switches. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

Marshall
