I have my van since 96 and had installed a full alarm
system with remote "start" and door locks. My windows
are tinted really dark also. I used to do a lot of
road trips for bike contest and demos.

I carry my bikes and my friends bikes (1000$-2000$ BMX
bikes) in there all the time and cover them with a
huge black sheet, like 8 x 8. Sometimes I even locked
them all together in the van and onto the rear seat
when in hotel lots. Never got anything stolen so
far... Guess I have been very lucky! I also use a
locking device on the stearing wheel! I guess theeves
are overwhelmed with all the work to get to the
stuff...

I even set the alarm sound on purpose in bad
neiborhoods, so they know that the little bliking
light on the dash is not a fake... Yes I am a fanatic,
cause I have learned from my friends mistakes!
