So i was looking at the head studs on the engine i am rebuilding and noticed that a couple of them (one in particular) has rust. Rust to the point it is quite rough and scaley. Is it ok to simply de-rust it and go from there, or is replacement necessary (honestly, i'm probably going to replace it just so i feel better about it, but if people with actual experience say otherwise...). If stud replacement is necessary, what kind of goops/threadlocks/anti-siezes are necessary/recommended? Bently didn't really go into this, that i saw - nor did it give a torque spec.
