87 Vanagon GL 2.1L automatic transmission.
Transmission engages manually in all gears, but van
won't drive any faster than 30mph -- even in D!

P.S. Also, I've noticed that many on this list have
said that overhauling this transmission is <easy>.
What kind of transmission stand would one use? And
once I get started (if necessary), whom can I call for
help? :-)
