One more note on this switch: My 92 Jetta trunk switch is the exact same except it has a notch in the side so you can push it in by hand and angle the plunger so the notch holds the switch in the off position. This will prevents the lights from staying on, manually. Some times logic from VW kills me: Since the light may kill the battery just remove the light switch all together?.....go figure.....
