I will be driving from Quebec to Newfoundland this summer also! In ym experience you've just got to take it slow.... keep it filled with oil, and make occasional stops. 8 hours a day shouldn't be a problem at all.... keep in mind the terrain isn't to rough, so it should be smooth coasting!
