I saw this cruise control on E-bay. I wrote them the following question:

(1) It appears that this unit doesn't require vacuum hookup. Is that true? (2) When you say RPM wire ... is that the same as connecting to the negative terminal of the coil? (3) Will this unit work with magnets on the axle shaft? I have 2 VW Vanagons, 1 automatic and 1 manual. I'd like to install cruise control in either/both of them. Thanks, Mike --------------------

This was their answer:

Mike, This is two of a three part kit. Unfortunately I do not have one of the kits, which supplies the servo and vaccum canister. The control arm is one kit, and the cable with attachments is the second. The third kit contains the vaccum canister and servo which are needed for the completion of the whole operating system. I don't know why they made it this way, but they evidently did. Hope that helps.... thanks for looking....

Larry

Their description lead one to believe that it was a complete kit .... ready to "Plug and Play". I would think you have cause to file a fraud complaint.

Anyway, as you can see, it pays to ask questions on some items prior to bidding.
