So the spikes are just held in the holes loose? ??  That a great
idea........

Thanks to all the other tips I got from several of you today,, I will hit
Home Depot or Lowes Sat Am for some pressure treated 2X8.  I think I will go
with  9" + 18" + 27 " pcs of wood.. With the bevels that will give me an
aprox.  8x8 contact patch for the tires to sit on ..

The foot print of each tire is about 7" x 7" so any of the three sizes would
do. I have this setup myself. I used 2" x 8" and drilled holes through the
set of three so I could insert spikes and hold the three pieces together.
The idea was to be able to use one, two or three boards depending upon the
lift needed. In practice I just drive up the 45° slope on all three boards
until my gauge shows level, apply the brakes and block the wheels.
Remember: sharp side down for the spikes - LOL
