The rear heater and valve assembly is still pressurized even with the valve off. Turning it off only stops the flow. Your probably have a leaking core. Dennis -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM] On Behalf Of Jeff Lincoln Sent: Sunday, April 20, 2003 4:07 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Riddle me this and Riddle me that - Strange "Leak" Alright, after the last question I asked I am almost reluctant to ask again - but I am truly stumped. I have an 85' GL 7 passenger, manual, 1.9L with A/C. There has been a growing wet spot on the floor running from the middle of the front of the middle seat to about 3/4 of the way back along the sliding side door. I thought I had a leaking window or hole in the floor but this is not the case. I was working on running some new rear speaker wire - I pulled back the carpet to find it is not water soaking the carpet at all but what appears to be coolant. So my question is how the hell can this happen? and why? It was such an unexpected discovery that I have no clue (as usual). The rear heater does not work and I have turned off the valve to it under the rear seat if that matters. So what gives? Any advice is greatly appreciated. JEFF LINCOLN 85' GL |
