My first VW was a '71 Kombi that I purchased for 300$USD (500$CAN) in year 2000. The idea was to take it from B.C and as far as it would go........it was rough from the start...... but it just wanted to stay alive a little longer. And wouldn't you just know it! That old tired motor kept going.... and going...... all the way through Washington....... then Oregon...... then California...... then Mexico........... then Guatemala! On top of that...... it made it back home too! These cars are the best. My new '86 vanagon needs some TLC though...... but I've got faith in this old thing just the same! It's now a daily driver and will travel hundreds and hundreds of kilometres during this years summer vacation ! Take care of your old VW and it will take care of you! Regards, Shawn '73 Campmobile '86 Camper GL
