Please disregard my previous post. I just found Dennis Haynes's excellent article which pretty much answered ALL my questions about emissions. Thanks Dennis! If anyone is interested, the link is http://gerry.vanagon.com/files/technical/emissions-by-dennis-haynes.txt Thanks all! --=Dan P.S. Thanks to all who responded, nonetheless!!!
Just welcomed a new member to the family, an '84 Westy. She's a beauty, and I can't wait to get her out on the road. So excited... :-). Of course, first I have to go through getting her registered and such. You know, all that fun DMV stuff. Anyway, being a bear of little brain, I ran a Carfax report AFTER buying it (flame on! I deserve it). She checks out great EXCEPT for the past two years she has failed the New York State emissions test. So, looks like I am going to be getting some work done, right off the bat. I know, "welcome to the world of Vanagons." My question, oh sage ones... typically, what kind of work needs to be done to bring these vehicles up to state emission standards??? Thanks, Dan '84 Westy :-) |
