If you have another Vanagon of any year you can selective save parts that will fit most Vanagons or just parts that you know are expensive. Most common Vanagon parts failures are electronics, next are brake and clutch, next are drive train. Since you're limited on space this is what I'd save: 1) Fuel pump 2) Clutch master and slave 3) Brake booster, master cylinder 4) All plastic plugs, nut covers etc. 5) Seat belts (somebody always looking) 6) Drive axles, tranny if you got room. 7) Engine sheet metal (contact Boston Bob, he's an occasional buyer) 8) Heater boxes, flapper valves 9) Heads if they are good (worth 50$ each as cores) 10) Sell seats local and contact local VW club and offer them a 200$ field day on what is left. 11) Complete fuel Injection System, w/ control head. 12) Exhaust crossover pipe. 13) Instrument cluster with black box / speedo cables. I haven't found any screaming need for much other than these items.
