Subject: Engine sounds like it doesn't have any oil
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Decided to do some work on my Caravelle 1.9L this Easter. Should probably not have done this. There is a hose from the air intake that connects to the oil system. This hose had a "leak" and made the area around the leak dirty with oil fumes, so I sealed the leak all nice and tight. Starting the engine afterwards, it sounded like it did not have any oil and I was just waiting for the cylinder heads and valves to drop out of the engine. Loosing up the leak again and even disconnected the hose, the engine sounds just fine. If you don't know what hose I'm talking about.. You can see it here: http://no.photos.yahoo.com/bc/per_martin2002 and select WV Caravelle.

Anyone knows what the problem is...

BTW... Second picture is a connector underneath the thermostat that was disconnected. I have now connected it with no change in behaviour of the engine. Anyone knows what the connector is for ?

Thanks

Per Martin
