First, you might want to find out if your van was included in the recall for the overhead ducts, which in some cases were falling down and hitting people on the head. A dealer should be able to tell you or do a search on recalls. Second, if you live in the desert, you will miss that duct bringing cool air to the front. And yes, it has come up, with most Westy owners trying to figure out how to get cool air to the front, or installing second A/C under the dash. Good luck, Jerry
