This is exactly the samething as me. The power relay and the 56ohms resistor
shows some overheating . It sounds it is a common problem for the Vanagon.

BTW, I wonder if VW had a recall on this device. How de we know if the van
had all the VW recalls fixed on it? I saw in the archive that VW had many
recalls on the Vanagon 1987.

Any comments?
