While knowing nothing about what kind of an EVC has --- I can tell you what would be happening with the Dometic fridge in a Vanagon Westy. There is no thermostat and the fridge will cool about 40 degrees belwo ambient temperature. So if you had 35 degrees overnight your fridge was cheerfully working to make it cooler than that --- and even a Dometic can get the remperature down the few degreees it needed to be below freezing. This has happened to me to --- freezing the eggs just below the cooling fins on a 40 degree night. If it's that cold turn the fridge off (you don't need it) and you should be fine.

Enjoy your trip, Cheers, Doug

-----snip-------- Hi all, My EVC is sitting in the parking lot at work all packed and ready for a 650-700 mile trip starting @2:00 this afternoon.. This will be my second big road trip and my first time camping in the EVC. I will be Rock Climbing in New River Gorge West Virginia, leaving central Ct today..

My Problem is for the second time I have run the refigerator it has frozen all my Vegies and Salad stuff.. It may be weather / outside temp related???

This is what happened on my First road trip from Ct to Bike Week in Daytona Florida the first week of March, we left in a snow storm so it was cold out and my stuff froze. Yesterday it was 80 degrees in Ct. but it dropped down to 30-35 last night.. I pre ran the refig for a few hours after I got home from work, ( Pluged into the house 110 V ) it was getting cool so I piled all my food in it and went to Bed.. I checked it when I got to work because I turned the gas on ( for the 7 hours I plan to work today ) and More Frozen food..

What am I doing WRONG ????

I leave in two hours so I could use some speedy suggestions,, Will I ever be able to keep salad and Veggies that are prone to frezze in this unit ????

Thanks, Steve D 02 EVC ( just about 5000 miles, 2 months old ) ---------end snip-------
