Hi Jay,

You can turn the fridge down when it's running on propane (and I'm pretty sure on AC as well) but it doesn't have a thermostat so it doesn't go off when it gets below a certain temp, nor does it go back on when it gets above a certain temp. I've learned to turn mine down if I'm expecting a cold night --- otherwise stuff will freeze. Of course, too cold is rarely a problem for our fridges. :-)

Cheers, Doug

Not sure about this info from Doug. I thought only the 12VDC ran full-on all the time. The 110V isn't controlled? This would be a major pita for camping with on-site 110VAC.

While knowing nothing about what kind of an EVC has --- I can tell you what would be happening with the Dometic fridge in a Vanagon Westy. There is no thermostat and the fridge will cool about 40 degrees belwo ambient temperature. So if you had 35 degrees overnight your fridge was cheerfully working to make it cooler than that --- and even a Dometic can get the remperature down the few degreees it needed to be below freezing. This has happened to me to --- freezing the eggs just below the cooling fins on a 40 degree night. If it's that cold turn the fridge off (you don't need it) and you should be fine.

Enjoy your trip, Cheers, Doug
