The Vanagon Camper Syncro that was road tested for the referenced Car & Driver article was a non-GL model, not a GL Camper with built-in appliances and utilites. The article talks about "carrying six people, and sleeping four". Later in the article, it mentions "its optional refrigerator". There was probably about a $500 to $1,500 price difference between the two models in 1986 depending on additional options.
