Well, it wasn't such a big issue after all getting things to fit. Either the aftermarket stuff is a lot softer than Genuine Volkswagen or I don't know my own strength. Threaded a couple of large bolts in the flange, chucked the bolts in the vise, applied some pressure, got things fairly close. 'Course, there's a few "kinks" instead of smooth bends, but it'll pass gas OK.

Now, having gotten it loosely in place and taking a look, I've got to ask....

Do you Federal Vanagon guys have to remove the EGR filter each time you want to check the valves on that side? It sure looks like you'd have to! --------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Young '81 Vanagon Lafayette, CA 94549 '82 Westfalia --------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stan Wilder" <wilden1@juno.com> To: <tomyoung1@attbi.com> Cc: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Thursday, April 17, 2003 6:54 PM Subject: Re: How do I get this EGR filter on???
