If I recall correctly.... On the 85 digijet the fuel pump runs for a few seconds when the key is first turned on, to pressurize the system. Then the fuel pump does not turn on again until it sees the hall sender pulse at the ecu. That way if the van gets in an accident the fuel pump will stop when the engine stops. Joe
