Subject: My first trip...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed

Hey,

Just drove down my new-to-me '85 Weekender from Chicago to Austin.

I passed an 80's Westy travelling through Missouri, I waved, they honked... I think that was the best part of the trip.

The worst part - In Tulsa, I picked up an ECU gremlin. Over the next several hours I struggled to get 30 miles. Luckily there was a truck stop. I pulled over and got a pair of jumper cables and grounded the alternator to the chassis. That kept the problem at bay for the remainder of the trip. >> Thanks to Steve for the idea! <<

The 30mph headwinds and the hills in Oklahoma were torture. Throw in an onslaught of semi's blasting by me at 80+ mph, I can't say I want to return to OK anytime soon.

See you on the road...

Conrad
