Mary,

Do you have A/C?  If you do it makes the job a little more difficult.
There is more involved than simply unbolting and replacing the pump.
Part of the difficulty is a metal tube that connects to the side and
runs to the opposite side of the engine.  It's been awhile since I did
the job myself, but when it was all over I decided it was worth paying
the mechanic the two hours of labor that he wanted ($120).

If it's been awhile since you've replaced the coolant you might want to
consider doing so since most of it has to be drained anyway.  (We all
know how much fun it is to get the air out of the system after a job
like this.)

One last thing.  Make sure that it's a quality pump.  I've been suckered
in the past by buying a rebuilt from some unknown company that had a
great warranty--just wished it covered the cost of installation as well
because it went out in no time.  Spend the money so you don't have to do
this again any time soon.
