••••••••••• This is interesting, on my '84 the third lever controls the front lower center console heat ducts, while the fourth lever controls fresh air to the rear via the ceiling vents.

Door vents are where the air *exits*, at least on my '84. The air is sucked out through those grills w/the blue knobs, out of the leading edge of the door, where the air is under the greatest amount of negative pressure (vacuum), if that makes sense. :^) The fresh air to the rear seats goes into the door's built-in duct/crash beam at the front, into the b-pillar on the rearward edge, and up to the ceiling vents through the body. Pretty clever really.
