February '03: A local transmission shop charged $850 to rebuild the AT on my '87 Westy... I R/R'd the tranny for the shop to work on out of the van. They ran into quite a few unusable parts that had to be replaced, so the bill was a little higher than the $725 quoted. They had the parts within two days. After 1500 miles no problems. HTH
