Thanks Doug, and Mark Keller, for your call tonight to offer some great advice before we leave tomorrow! I managed to get a new temp level sensor in tonight, and all seems ok so far. I've given up on curing the VS issues until I return. The temp level sensor is an exercise in frustration - it is a very fine line between too loose and leaking, and too tight and cracking the plastic. My first attempt seemed pretty tight but promptly leaked after 10 minutes of running the engine. I eventually tightened another 3/4 turn (!) a bit at a time before it finally stopped leaking (I think).
