considering 78% of the air we breath is nitrogen... i don't think so. IF anything you want oxygen free air as O2 will decompose rubber. In high temp situations, i could, i guess, see a reason to run N2 or oxygen free air. As for inert, N2 is somewhat inert, but not really inert like the Nobel/Inert gasses.
