Today there is a free air-cooled VW show at the Carlsbad CA VW dealer, Bob Baker VW. I stopped by to see what was there and it was pretty busy being such a sunny spring day. I counted over 30 split window busses of most every type and year. Many looked restored better than new and others were styled and customized in the usual ways. Pickups, Sundial and Westy Campers, and even a high roof ambulance towing an Eriba Puck camping trailer. Several loafs up to 1972, mostly Westy models. Many Bugs, Ghias, Type 3 of all 3 kinds, etc. No later loafs or any vanagons but there was a T3 double cab with an aircooled 6 of some sort. I did see numerous Vanangons parked in the area, obviously attending the show. Mark |
