Here enters the devils advocate!
Check around and get yourself a 77-79 Chevy Nova hatch back with a six
cylinder engine.
They go for about $800.00 at note lots and are tougher than a boot.
I looked at a 47,000 mile 73 Bus today with a dead engine, asking price
$850.00. If this bus had only 47k on it I'll eat the tires from it. Other
than that it showed 200K miles of abuse.
Ten blocks from me is a 68 Van without an engine, no rear seating, no
interior panels they are asking $1000.00 and this is definitely a $200.00
parts only van. Also a fair amount of rot in the proper places for 68s.
