The fact is in many cases these vehicles are 15+ years old...... and it
seems to me that in today's over-consuming society that if you're car isn't
5-10 years old, then in the eyes of many it become a likely-to-breakdown
vehicle.... thus not valued $$ by their owners.

Alternatively, however, these vehicles ARE worth their price in parts
alone.  As many of you are aware, the cost of replacement vanagon parts can
be extremely high in price.  Acually, I think the fact that so many ARE
still on the road plays a factor..... because there's a shortage of
scrapped vanagons out there.

Take engine cores for example.... in some areas it's hard to find a good
2.1L to use for a rebuild.  As a result people often pay several thousand
just to get motors re-done.... and that's not even taking into
consideration the other parts.

Well I appreciate hearing everyone ideas of this subject.... but I still
say to keep your eyes open folks, as deals are to be found!
