Actually, I speak Canadian English, which is distantly related to the Queen s English. We tend to add an "A" to the end of sentences, pick and choose which spellings we'll use today, such as color or colour, and generally throw in far too many commas to create run on sentences eh?? :-) I slight smattering of French slang is the Grand Finale!!! Regards, Courtney

A Friday note-- I'm a 68 year old "lurker" who lurks because of a devotion to VW's since the fifties. I have never deleted a message due to grammatical structure. Some of you folks are language proficient and some are not but in either case I understand the points made. I've owned eleven air-cooled VW's over the years and loved them all in one way or another. Some of the finest mechanics I've ever employed "butchered" the language but produced marvelous repairs in a timely fashion at a reasonable price. I've employed "mechanics" who had perfected English but were sloppy in mechanical results. I've also dealt with folks who were skilled in both areas. I tend to look at results rather than "fluff". My manual dexterity has always been deficient although I can intellectually understand the repair process. Hence, I pay for what I can't do well. This revelation didn't come easy---my ego got in the way early on. I thoroughly enjoy this list with my morning coffee----This is my first stop on my daily internet travels. Happy trails, Bill
