There have been various discussions about the 009 and 50 on this list before. What I've gleaned is that the Type IV 2000cc needs the 42 degrees of advance of the stock 205s distributor (could be wrong on that number). I've never run carbs so your combination might be right for the carbs. About the only test would to install a Cylinder head temp gauge, Oil temp gauge and monitor both to be sure your engine is within the proper ranges under severe driving conditions. I've found the stock point sets more than adequate for ignition. I had a bad experience with Compufire in the 205s distributor (they don't make a unit for it, I was just handed the get by at the parts counter). The Compufire does make a unit for the 009 but again I find the stock points and distributor work well in my 1600 DP 71/74 powered 66 Westy. Don't expect any performance increase with either Petrox or Compufire, they just replace the points but can give more accurate firing.
