Ron, first, I'm NOT the expert on this but have read so many threads about this issue that it sounds like the others, and that's the 3rd-4th gear slider....which is disigned badly, prone to breaking and replacable with a newer, a little more bullet-proof unit. Also, manual tranny's are difficult/complicated to work on, especially compared to auto's. Check the archives for the topic "3rd-4th gear slider" and you may find more than you came up with. I'm sure others here will be providing you with much more useful information/experience.

Bob
