Subject: Repairing paint flakes
Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi,

My '86 westy appears to have been repainted at some point. Actually, the finish is quite nice, practically no rust.... except a small 2" x 2" section under the windshield is 'flaking' off.... and if I clean the area, it enlarges and 'flakes' some more.

How can I stop the 'flakes' from spreading, and what's a good way to fix this? I was thinking of using a putty to make the surface flush, then a shot of primer and paint.

All help appreciated! Thanks...

- Shawn.
