Subject: Re: rear sag on a 85 westy

<snip> the thing i need to know is the best way to level the bus it has the old age rear sag. <snip>

I've read in several different places that the '85s were higher in the front than other years. Dunno how true that is as a general statement .... but it's certainly true on mine. When I put my 2 vans side by side .... the '84 is high in the rear, low in the front and the '85 is high in the front and low in the rear.

I've considered swapping springs between the two of 'em but I think the way I'm going to go is adding spacers to the rear of the '85 Westy and not worry about the 7 passenger '84.

I'm either going to try cutting them out of hard nylon (plastic?) cutting board material or using parts of old CV joints. I'll have to see just how much correction is needed.

I'm more concerned keeping the fridge happy than the rear view mirror thing as I've added a second inside rear view mirror. I stuck it to the windshield down near the dash. I was going to remove the original one .... but after driving with both of 'em, I like it the way it is.

Mike
