Well, It is a maintenance item, although a minor one. My 82 when filling up, always has gas run down the side of the van when the pump clicks...........and i have replaced everything.........everything! so i get back there to the canister, and it smells VERY gassy, and figured what the heck....for a few minutes with a drill and fish charcoal it is fixed...........no harm done..........and maybe, my gas tank won't overflow...................
