Honestly, this seems like something a few well placed calls can help give you some weight. By that i mean getting a few of the list members to call the dealer, pretending to be from the area, posing as potential customers, talking to the service manager and letting them know they've heard about this incident and are quite discouraged that this could happen, and will consequently not be sending any work their way unless this is swiftly and satisfactorily resolved... that kind of thing. Except not in a run-on sentence. That isn't very professional. Anyway, I am typically one to deal with these types of situations like how you've handled it - benefit of the doubt kind of thing. However, like many of the people on this list, i've become a bit jaded by dealers, and feel that individuals need to stick up to them when wronged, as this case clearly is (assuming exactly as mentioned). You should give names, locations, and contact info so, at the very least, people know where to avoid. Good luck, and keep posting questions and updates to the list so you can get collective wisdom (others, not mine :-), to help you along. -Damon (happy to get on the phone and help out)
