But not a very good one, IMHO. KBB's value for my '82 Westy is $1,900, but try finding one in drivable condition for that price. ----------------- Clip---------------------------- I believe that members of the Vanagon List are more competent to place a value on Westies and Vanagons than used card dealers. With a possible 2000 buy, sell, trade transactions a year by list members this pretty much makes us the experts. The general public driving Vanagons and Westies just drive them until they break or they are overwhelmed by repairs they've bought and repairs they know to be coming soon. Considering that most Vanagons are from 12 to 23 years old it's 'buyer beware in every situation'. There are average folks out there driving Vanagons and Westies that aren't on the list and are dependant upon local repair shops and local mechanics to keep their vehicles running, that's just running, not in top shape. I'm placing the priority of "No Rust" on the top of my list since almost every other bad feature of an old Vanagon or Westy can be overcome with patience, perseverance, prayer and a rich uncle.

Stan Wilder
