I think I'm going into Westy withdrawal symptoms even before the buyer picks up my 83 Westy. I reached deep down and threw another $100.00 at this 66 Westy in the form of a tachometer and a new Bug Pack muffler, tail pipe assembly. I could have done without both items and I rather regret installing the tach ................ do you know how many RPMs a Type I engine turns at 70 mph? Enough to scare the heckens out of you. Since I have active prospects on the 66 I'll just be biting the bullet on any farther improvements I put on it. I can only attribute this insane behavior to the delays in getting my Ceramics Business wired for the necessary three phase electrical so I can start accepting Ceramics Coatings jobs. If you think Vanagon and Westy parts are expensive you should try finding a list discount on installing 3 phase electric service. The total ticket is going to be darn near the price I'll be getting out of the 66 when it goes.
