There are 6 bolts that hold the cat in place...3 from the exhaust pipe and 3 to the muffler. They'll likely be rusted solid and have to be cut off. I was replacing my muffler (not my cat) and this was a real pain as I couldn't gain access to the upper nut except by hand...i.e. no power tools.

Your mileage may vary. Do you prefer to spend your time working on this? Or pay someone else to spend the time?
