Many eons ago (well actually about a year ago), I took a look at a modern reprint of the John Muir book ("How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive"). It mentions in the rear section that the water cooled Vanagons are covered in the "How to Keep Your Rabbit Alive" book. However that book seems to be out of print.
