Dear List, I have spent over 70 hours trying to diagnose an elusive hesitation problem in my '86 2.1L. I initially posted on this under "...possessed..." three weeks ago. Two very good Vanagon mechanic friends, including Darrell Boehler, have offered many hours looking at this but not completely fixed it. I got lots of good responses from the list, but none that worked. There is no one else of Darrell's calibre that I can take the van to. Would the list mind if I offered a moderate "diagnosis reward" of $100 for the answer? I am out of options with this engine. I would post symptoms on a web page and try to keep most discussion (except for a final winning diagnosis and summary, of course) off the list. Thanks, Steve Gough '86 Westy |
