I was feeling so virtuous after setting my Digifant 2.1 to the stock timing setting. I unhooked the TS2, and while throttling to between 2000K and 2500K RPM, set the notch for the case seam. It was previously set to the left (retarded?) about 1.5 inches. Now the van has very little power off the line and just seems lethargic. I've searched the archives, and it seems that some folks like to run their timing setting a little bit before TDC for more power. So what are some people's opinions? I'm probably going to set it back to the left, since it drove with more gusto before, but I don't want to cause preignition and kill the engine early. For those who have set theirs different from stock, what works well? I don't have a fancy timing light, so if you could recommend a distance from the notch, that would be most helpful.
