I have had good fortune with VW dealers with my local one that has a
mechanic who owns his own Vanagon. Your dealer does not sound reputable.


Years ago I had a Mercedes engine rebuilt at a cost of $5,000. Less than a
year later the crank shaft cracked and needed replacing. The shop replaced
it and no cost for labor and no questions asked. That is the way it is
supposed to be.


I think you need a good lawyer in your case, or small claims court.
