I don't know of anything pre-made. I've got some white LEDs I'm tempted to use if I can figure out a good way to mount them. They have an interesting light color, very white with a purplish tinge around the edges. Almost like a xenon arc headlight. They're quite directional, I think the beam angle is about 30 degrees, so no reflector is necessary. The brightness is impressive, similar to what you'd expect from a penlight bulb. One or two of them, aimed properly, would make an excellent reading light.
