Subject: alignment woes (short short story)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Finally take the plunge and go to Tires Plus here in Athens Ga. and get four new tires and alignment. After picking up the van and heading down the road I feel a strangeness in the steering. Takes me a while to figure out what it is. When I would go around long easy turns the steering would not right itself after getting through the turn. I had to physicaly pull the wheel back to center. Slight scare. Started playing with it to get it to do it some more. If I slightly turn the wheel to say two o clock it would be stiff going back to center. Feels like they tightend something or something like that. It makes me uncomfortable to say the least. Seems ok doing full on turns. So I take it back. They have a six month guarantee. It had only been a week. The mechanic takes it around the block and can't get it to do it. Ninety degree turns and no long slow corners. Tell me theres nothing more they can do. I explained what I thought was a dangerous situation caused by their alignment guy. Said there was nothing he could do. Needless to say I was upset by such neglegence. I have called their complaint dept. and sent e-mails. We'll see if I get a response. Meanwhile my knowledge of the front end is pretty limited does anyone know of what they may have done to cause this? Is there anything I can do to help the situation. Thanks Merv
