The nut on the top stud of the shock does NOT want to be
tightened that much. The rubber bushings should not be squeezed
out much beyond the diameter of the top washer.
Read the installation instructions that came with the shocks!

The rubber bushings on top help absorb the impact when
the shock tops out, and on real hard sudden bumps.
If they are squished out flat they don't do their job.
More impact forces are transmitted into the shock and I've
seen 2 shocks that were broken internally because of it.
